PRIMARY SCHOOL

English

Depending on your child’s ability and receptivity, lessons will run the gamut from the basics of language mastery to introducing rudimentary critical thinking skills through discussions designed to improve your child’s communication level.

We focus on teaching students exactly what is required for all the question formats and components required by MOE Curriculum in order to ACE in English. These include:

• Vocabulary – Defining and using unknown words correctly in a context of a sentence via cloze passages
•  Oral Communication – Expressing thoughts, opinions confidently and fluently
•  Comprehension – Active reading strategies, identifying question types and appropriate answers
•  Composition – Mastering formats and strategies for different essay types
•  Critical Thinking – Introducing and developing rudimentary critical thinking and reasoning skills to evaluate information presented in passages
•  Grammar – Improving via exercises in editing, sentence reconstruction, synthesis and transformation

Math

Math underpins many aspects of our everyday lives. A good understanding of math is therefore essential as it provides a vehicle to train the mind and to develop the capacity to think logically, abstractly, critically and creatively. Recognising that individuals have different starting points, natural abilities and learning interests, our primary school program aims to build confidence and foster interest with (but are not limited to):

• Step-by-step problem solving
• Exposure to different problem-solving methods eg. Guess and Check, Model Drawing, Unitary etc

Science

Singapore’s science curriculum seeks to nurture the student as an inquirer, curious about and want to explore the things around them. Science education involves teaching students more than just the basic concepts of science. Our programs equip learners with the skills to identify questions and to derive conclusions via:

We continue to work on ensuring mastery of writing, comprehension & oral communication by strengthening language skills built in primary school years.

Emphasising critical thinking, skills and techniques, we build competence to excel in all question areas and components of the English curriculum, including:

• Comprehension – Active reading strategies, identifying question types and appropriate answers

Math

Math education plays an important role in equipping every learner with the necessary knowledge and skills and the capacities to think logically, critically and analytically to participate in the future economy and society. For some, it is just a tool to be used to meet the needs of everyday life; for others, learning more advanced math will give them a head start in their aspirations of pursuing STEM education and careers.

Our programs focus on

Lower Secondary:

• developing and forming answer verification habits and skills

Upper Secondary:

• Learning and understanding higher-level Math concepts
